T20 format of the game is being targeted by ICC (International Cricket Council) as the growth vehicle for the sport into uncharted territories and markets to create new audiences and markets for growth across the globe. The relaxation in player eligibility and ground conditions to host International status accredited matches is enabling many smaller Cricket Boards under ICC to look for organising T20I games and both Men’s/Women’s cricket is benefiting from these regulations.
In what will be historic first in one of the many International matches and tours to come in the near future, Turkey Women’s team will be touring Austria in Jun 2019 to play a series of 3 T20I matches against their counterparts, which will see both the team’s make their debut in the T20I format and a chance to collect rating points to feature in ICC Women’s T20I team rankings.
The tour, which will be from Jun 08th – 11th, will see Turkey Women also play T20 matches against team’s from Austria Cricket Club Wien (ACC) and Cricket Academy Austria (CAA) during their stay in the country.
