The evergreen Dean Jones, former Australia cricketer and coach of Islamabad United and popularly known as “Professor Deano”, will be Afghanistan’s interim head coach for their upcoming Intercontinental Cup match in Hong Kong, to be played from October 20-23 at Mission Road in Mong Kok.
Afghanistan and their last head coach, Lalchand Rajput parted ways after there was no contract extension beyond August 2017.
Although this is more like a stop-gap arrangement, there is no guarantee as of now if Jones’s involvement will extend beyond the Hong Kong tour.
