Netherlands “A” squad concluded their short trip of Guernsey as they won both their T20 games on the final day of the tour against Guernsey senior XI by comfortable margins.
Both teams agreed to play two T20 matches in place of the scheduled 50-overs game as the previous day was washed out due to wet weather conditions.
The 3-day tour provided Netherlands Head coach Ryan Campbell a good insight into the upcoming talent in the Dutch ranks with few capped players, who are looking to become regular starters for Netherlands first XI.
For Guernsey, it was the first series for their senior team with more challenges coming up including the Annual Inter-Insular series (3-match T20’s) against their Channel Islands neighbours, Jersey before heading out to Netherlands for ICC WorldT20 Europe qualifiers.
Netherlands players have a busy schedule ahead with the start of their domestic season with 4 months of Topklasse action, during which they will also host Ireland and Scotland in a T20 Tri-series and make a trip to Home of Cricket, Lord’s, for a T20 Triangular tourney involving Marylebone Cricket Club and Nepal.
