The past couple of months have been monumental for Rwanda Cricket Association, with the inauguration of their Cricket Stadium and getting the hosting rights for World T20 East Africa qualifiers.
Now as part of their prime objective in 2018, RCA have started a holiday training programme for 10 days for U-15 boys and girls in the country, which will run until 14th Jan 2018. The training camp kicked-off this week at Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre, (IPRC-Kigali) with participants from various regions in the country including Rulindo, Kayonza, Rwamanaga, Huye and Kigali City.
RCA have announced that over 40 players (both boys and girls) aged between 12-15 yrs are taking part in the programme with Rwanda national players also pitching in to provide guidance to the young kids about the sport.
“The holiday training camp is part of the ongoing RCA activities aimed at targeting the youth while they are still young,” Nzayisenga told Times Sport on Tuesday.
He added that, “This is part of RCA talent detection programme aimed at developing and promoting cricket throughout the country.”
