Shahzad’s maiden ODI century guides UAE to victory against Scots in Tri-series

Rameez Shahzad struck his maiden ODI century and remained unbeaten on 121 to guide UAE to victory over Scotland in a high-scoring encounter in the final match of the ODI Tri-series in Dubai.

After Ritchie Berrington (90 off 95) & Kyle Coetzer (75 off 79) led the batting charts for Scotland in their total of 299/9 in their 50 overs, Rameez Shahzad’s knock of 121 n.o off only 115 deliveries and a classy innings by Ashfaq Ahmed (92 off 87) at the top of the order helped UAE chase down the target, reaching 300/6 in 49.1 overs to win the match by 4 wickets.

Mohammad Naveed (3/47), Zahoor Khan (3/62) & Rohan Mustafa (2/60) were the pick of the bowlers for UAE while Safyaan Sharif (2/50) & Mark Watt (2/52) returned good figures for Scotland.

UAE will head to Namibia for ICC WCL Division 2 in Namibia from Feb 08th – 15th, 2018 while Scotland will travel to Zimbabwe in Mar 2018 for World Cup Qualifiers. UAE too, can join them if they manage to finish in the top 2 of Division 2 event.

Ireland had already won the ODI Tri-series in Dubai after winning all their 4 matches in the tournament.
