Cricket Indonesia and Cricket Korea have announced their respective squads for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific group “B” qualifiers, to be hosted by Philippines from Dec 01st – 07th, 2018. All matches will be played at Friendship Oval ground in Cavite, Philippines.
Indonesia and South Korea will be competing against the host’s and Japan in the 4-team tournament in a double round-robin league phase to determine the lone qualification spot from the event to advance into the EAP regional finals in 2019, to be hosted by Papua New Guinea. Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu qualified from EAP “A” qualifiers held in Fiji few weeks back.
South Korea had good competitive match-time in the recently concluded 2018 East Asia Cup held in Hong Kong, where they competed with Japan, China and Cricket Hong Kong Dragons team’s in the T20 format. Indonesia national squad recently were in Sri Lanka where they played matches against the local club team’s to prepare for the competition.
